Woven Poly Greenhouse Covering

wovenpoly400wThis material is a woven polyethylene material that is an affordable covering for greenhouses and grow tunnels. It can be expected to have an approximate four year life depending on application, installation and weather.

This material contains UV inhibitors designed to prevent deteriorization during the expected lifespan. UVI does not effect the sun's rays from penetrating the film. The nature of this film plus the UVI additive makes the film cloudy. The material is therefore translucent. Compared to fiberglass used on greenhouses, woven poly is favorable. The woven poly fibers trap light and give off a uniform frosty glow. This uniform glow enhances light diffusion to create even plant shapes with minimum re-racking of plants inside the greenhouse plus the growing area is increased as the diffused light reduces shadows.

Lifespan: The lifespan of woven poly is dependent on the following factors.

Application - The use of the film can affect the lifespan. Simple covers in moderate environments will last much longer than furniture covers that are hadled roughly every day.
Installation - The method of greenhouse construction can enhance or detract from the lifespan of the poly; as well as the techniques used to install the film onto the structure.
Environment - All of the above combined with weather factors can also adversely affect the lifespan of woven poly. Excessive storm activity, animal infestations, etc. can irreversibly damage film - however, woven poly can better resist moderate storms as well as dog and cat claws. Note that dedicated animals can damage any film.
